Residents Work to Clean Little Conestoga Road

Author: Blog Admin  /  Category: Adopt a Highway, Eco

On Sunday, April 26th a group of Wallace Township residents volunteered to be a part of The Great PA Cleanup. Fifteen people, including four under 18 years, walked the 2-mile stretch of Little Conestoga Road from Adams Drive to Whitetail Ridge (almost to Fairview Road). We met around 8:30am and completed the cleanup rather quickly! In just over an hour.

We reported the following statistics, which are down from last year, but we know that is because there was much less trash along our adopted roadside this time.

HERE IS THE REPORTING INFORMATION YOU ENTERED:

Volunteers: 15
Volunteers Under 18: 4
Number Of Communities Involved: 1
Cleanup Type: Litter Cleanup Event
Bags of Trash: 14
Miles of Road: 2

The results of all events will be combined into a statewide statistics for the Great PA Cleanup. Those results will be published on Keep America Beautiful’s website and will serve as a benchmark for future events.

If you are interested in volunteering to help keep our roads beautiful, please contact us and register for the cleanup, or subscribe to the West Glenmoore eNewsletter. The Adopt a Highway/Road program wants us to clean our 2-mile section of LCR 3-4 times a year. We typically run our first cleanup event coinsiding with The Great PA Cleanup in April. Other times we need volunteers is again in mid-summer and then again in October.

Hope to see some new faces during our next cleanup event! It fun to get out there and meet your neighbors and walk the road. You see a lot more than we all do driving at 40 MPH.
