I Was Shocked to Learn My Daily Water Consumption

Author: Cathy T  /  Category: Eco, Water Savings

Another short article I read in this month’s Body + Soul was about the average American’s Daily Water Consumption. You will be shocked to find out how much water you use and indirectly use over the course of the day by using the Water Consumption Calculator at H20Conserve.org.

After filling out the online questionnaire I was shocked to learn that I am just about a hundred gallons less than the average American, which is 1,190.5 gallons per day (according to Food & Water Watch). Of this amount, the majority is spent on energy production, cleaning and eating. There are questions about your direct water usage such as, length of shower, watering your lawn or garden and what time of toilet and faucets you have.

So go check out your “Water Footprint“. Leave a comment so we can see how others are conserving water or to see where we match up with others.
