This weekend Jeff and I headed up to the United Sports Training Center for a playdate for our kids. We were taking them to paint plates with another family that has children the same age as ours. When we got to the Pottery Place , I had no idea it would be one of those grown up places where you could paint a nice piece, fire it up in the kiln and end up with a custom made piece. My son picked out a dinosaur from a selection of small items I allowed him to choose from, and I ended up picking a fish for my younger daughter. I have to say, they were really great for 3 1/2 year olds and 19 month olds!! The mommies and daddies ended up painting the second coat on each piece, but it was a fun 20 minutes for the kids.
The Pottery Place offer Ladies Nights where you can bring your own wine and food and paint in a private room. They even offer 10% off if you get a group of 5 or more together. They had a pretty big selection of pottery available - plates, bowls, wine chillers, "piggy" banks, and all sorts of other things. Sounded like a neat idea, so I just wanted to pass it along.
